Originally from Osaka, we opened Yamazushi in 1986 as the first sushi restaurant in the triangle.
We are now introducing traditional Japanese
kaiseki dinner. Centuries ago, kaiseki was a multi-course
dinner served before tea ceremonies in Japan. It starts with a small appetizer and soup,
followed by a variety of small dishes.
Dishes are raw, grilled, simmered, deep-fried,
and steamed. Although sushi plays an important role in kaiseki,
Japanese cuisine is unlimited in other savory dishes and artistic presentation of ingredients. Yamazushi's new
menu represents our passion to introduce new and unique ways to enjoy
Japanese cuisine. Dishes in this menu may vary from
kaiseki dishes; however, the concept of enjoying small dishes
is identical. We offer healthy (macrobiotic) dishes and vegan dishes as well as gluten-free dishes.

At Yamazushi, even the smallest
dish is high quality, represented in our selection of green teas, as
well as the rice we serve. Plates, cups and bowls in Japanese
cuisine are called "Kimono (robe) of food" because they are
indispensable for presentation
just like a kimono would beautify a person. Most of our
plates and cups are imported from Japan or handmade by George.
Thank you,
George and Mayumi Yamazawa
